This petition has been filed challenging the order dated 06.08.2025, whereby, the request of the petitioner for grant of honorary rank of Sub- inspector (SI) was rejected by the respondents on the ground that the petitioner did not have the requisite six years of regular service as on 01.01.2025. 2. There is no dispute that the petitioner was promoted as Assistant Sub- inspector (ASI) on 05.03.2019 and as on 01.01.2025, he did not had the qualifying service of six years. 3. Though, learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner has put in 39 years of service in the department and should have been given the honorary rank of SI. Given the stipulation in the letter dated 28.05.2025, This is a digitally signed order. We are of the view that the respondents are right in stating that the petitioner did not have the requisite six years of regular service. 5. Concedingly, the vires of the condition has not been challenged in this writ petition. We are of the view that the impugned letter dated 06.08.2025, cannot be faulted.
