The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner, arrayed as A15, allegedly forged documents pertaining to a Power of Attorney regarding property purchased by the defacto complainant in the year 2001. Hence, the case. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is innocent and has been falsely implicated. He further submits that the petitioner is a law-abiding citizen with no criminal antecedents and was not involved in any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He contended that as the investigation has significantly progressed, custodial interrogation is unnecessary, and undertakes that the petitioner shall cooperate fully with the investigation. 4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police, while opposing the grant of anticipatory bail, reiterated the prosecution's case and on instructions, submitted that the petitioner is involved in a matter of forgery and land-grabbing, which are serious offences requiring thorough investigation. Considering the nature and gravity of the offences, which involve the alleged forgery of title documents and land-grabbing having a serious impact on the rights of property owners, and the need to unearth the deeper conspiracy and identify the network involved in such fraudulent transactions, this Court is of the opinion that custodial interrogation is necessary for an effective investigation. Consequently, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner at this stage. 6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
