Mr. Ranabir Raychowdhury Ms. Rajashree Tah. …for the State. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a lady having a child and is in custody for nine months. Additionally, it has been submitted that investigation has concluded, charge-sheet has been submitted, charges framed and two witnesses have been examined. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the evidence which has been collected by the investigating agency points to the guilt of the present petitioner. Be that as it may, I have assessed the materials. Prima facie, it seems that till date the case is based on circumstantial evidence. Having considered that the prosecution intends to rely upon 21 witnesses and till date two witnesses have been examined, without entering into the merits of the case, I am inclined to release the petitioner on bail. 2 Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is allowed. The petitioner, namely, Soma Koley @ Soma Kolley @ Soma Maity shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) with two sureties of Rs.10,000/- each, one of whom must be local to the satisfaction of the learned ACJM, Arambagh, Hooghly. If on bail, the petitioner shall be physically present on each and every date before the learned trial court/learned Additional Sessions Judge, 1st Court, Arambagh and shall not leave the Sub-Division of Arambagh without prior permission of the learned trial court. Accordingly, CRM(M) 502 of 2026 is allowed. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
