Petitioner has filed this petition seeking following relief (s) :- “ 10.1 To kindly issue an order to quash or set aside the order of punishment passed against the petitioner. 10.2 To kindly issue a direction to the respondents to allow the petitioners to participate in the subsequent promotion procedure. 10.3 To kindly grant any other relief that the hon’ble court may deem fit and just in the facts and circumstances of the case.” 2. Learned counsel for the respondent State submits that against the order of punishment petitioners have submitted an appeal vide Annexure P/6 before the respondent no. 3 and from the date of filing of an appeal it appears that it may be pending till date. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that an appeal submitted by petitioners is yet to be decided and respondent authorities have initiated the proceedings for promotion from Head Constable to Assistant Sub Inspector and if, the appeal is not decided petitioners will be deprived of availing the chance of his consideration for promotion on the post of Assistant Sub Inspector. 4. I have heard learned counsel for the respective parties. 5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, nature of grievances raised and further considering the fact that 3 appeal has been submitted by petitioners before respondent no. 3, I find it appropriate to dispose of this writ petition at this stage, directing respondent no. 3 to consider and take decision on the appeal submitted by petitioners against the order of punishment to be decided within further period of two months from the date of receipt of the Order.
