Petitioner’s father was appointed as Peon in Punjab National Bank, Branch Dalanwala, Dehradun, who died while in service on 25.11.2018. Petitioner applied for compassionate appointment. His request has been turned down, vide order dated 03.01.2024. Thus, feeling aggrieved, petitioner has approached this Court. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that rejection of petitioner’s request for compassionate appointment is by a cryptic order, in which, the relevant facts have been altogether ignored and petitioner’s request has been turned down for wholly untenable grounds. Various other issues have been raised by the petitioner in this writ petition. 5. Mr. Siddhartha Jain, learned counsel appearing for the bank, however, submits that petitioner has made a request to the competent authority to re- consider his case for compassionate appointment, vide letter dated 21.02.2024. He assures that the competent authority will have a re-look in the matter and fresh order shall be passed, as per law. 2026:UHC:2232 6. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of by directing the competent authority in the bank to re-consider the case of the petitioner for compassionate appointment and pass necessary order, as per law, within eight weeks from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order.
