JUSTICE R DEVDAS ORAL ORDER Learned Additional Government Advocate takes notice for both the respondents. 2. It is the contention of the petitioners that Sri.Y.B.Neelakantaiah purchased 4 acres of land in Sy.No.40 of Vardhanahalli Village Kasaba Hobli, Doddaballapura Taluk under registered sale deed dated 10.08.1972 and his name was entered in the revenue records. Sri.Neelakantaiah, passed away and after his death, the mutation entry on the basis of succession was made in IHC.No.2/1987-1988 and the name of the wife of Sri.Y.B.Neelakantaiah, Smt.Sridevi was entered in the revenue records, nevertheless, after computerisation the name of Smt.Sridevi has been discontinued in the RTC. - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:9547 WP No. 38253 of 2025 3. After hearing the learned counsel for the petitioners, the learned Additional Government Advocate and on perusing the petition papers, this Court finds from the material on record that the name of Smt.Sridevi was earlier entered in the land revenue records. However, if the Tahsildar is of the opinion that Sri.Y.B.Neelakantaiah never purchased the land in question, nevertheless, it is the duty of the Tahsildar to secure the original grant records, Saguvali Chit issue register and other contemporaneous records to satisfy himself regarding the grant made in favour of the grantee and then verify the subsequent developments. Moreover, there is no reason why the name of Smt.Sridevi which was earlier entered in the land revenue records has been continued after computerization, the Tahsildar is duty bound to look into all these aspects and pass necessary orders. 4. The writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Tahsildar, Doddaballapura Taluk, to verify from the records and find out if grant was - 6 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:9547 WP No. 38253 of 2025 made in favour of the grantee and if the kimath was paid and the subsequent developments narrated hereinabove have taken place in a lawful manner. If it is found from the records that the facts stated hereinabove are true, then the Tahsildar shall proceed to enter the name of Smt.Sridevi in the computerised RTC in accordance with law. The entire exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Ordered accordingly.
