…...... 02/ 25.03.2026: This bail application has been filed by the petitioner under Sections 483 & 484 of BNSS, 2023 wherein, prayer has been made for grant of bail as he is in custody for allegedly committing offence punishable under Sections 304(2), 317(2), 317(4) of the Bhartiya Nagrik Sanhita.
2. Heard, learned counsel for the petitioner, learned counsel for the State and have also gone through the impugned order.
3. Learned AddI. P.P. opposes the prayer for bail.
4. The allegation against this petitioner is that he snatched the mobile phone of the informant while the informant was talking to a friend on phone on road. Upon a chase by the informant and intimating to the police, the police managed to apprehend the petitioner while he was fleeing. It is further alleged that two stolen mobile phones including that of the informant and a stolen bike were recovered from the possession of the petitioner.
5. The fact which is apparent from the record is that chargesheet has already been submitted in this case. Petitioner is in custody since
23.10.2025.
6. Considering the period of custody and the fact chargesheet has already been submitted, I am inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the petitioner, named above, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand)
with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned Additional Judicial Commissioner XVII, Ranchi, in connection with S.T. Case No.02 of 2026, corresponding to Bariyatu P.S. Case No.257 of 2025, subject to the condition that one of the bailors should be a close relative of the petitioner, having sufficient landed property in his/her own name within the State of Jharkhand.
