No. 1022 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 For Petitioner(s): Mr.C.P.Naresh Kumar For Respondent(s): Mr.Leonard Arul Joseph Selvam Additional Public Prosecutor ORDER The petitioner filed an online complaint on 13.03.2026 seeking the issuance of “Non-Traceable Certificate” regarding three missing documents: (i)Settlement Deed No.2789/1985 dated 14.08.1985 (ii)General Power of Attorney Document No.1947/2008 dated 25.04.2008, and (iii) Sale Deed Document No.1479/2010 dated 24.02.2010. Although the Police received the complaint, they have not yet issued the Certificate. 2.The Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, submitted that the petitioner had only sent the complaint online and failed to appear in person to submit the necessary supporting documents, such as Encumbrance Certificate and other particulars. He further submitted that, if the petitioner appears before the respondent Police and satisfies the conditions stipulated in the DGP Circular No.Rc. No. 2029209/General.1(1)/2022, dated 01.04.2022 , the Non-Traceable Certificate will be issued within a period of two months. 3.Recording the said submissions, the petitioner is directed to appear before the respondent police within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of this order, along with all relevant documents, including the https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP Crl. No. 1022 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 Encumbrance Certificate (EC) and paper publications, as stipulated in the aforementioned circular. 4.Upon the petitioner satisfying the conditions of the said circular, the respondent police shall conduct an inquiry and issue the "Non-Traceable Certificate" within a period of eight (8) weeks thereafter. 5.This petition is disposed of accordingly.
