This is an application under Section 483 of the BNSS, 2023, whereby the petitioner Abinas Mili @ Arun Mili has prayed for releasing him on bail, after he was arrested in connection with Majuli P.S. Case No. 12/2026. Page No.# 2/2 3. On 07.04.2026 the deceased Anima Mili Payeng had gone missing while she had gone to the market. Later on her dead body was found hanging. The brother of the deceased lodged an FIR before the police alleging that the present petitioner, being the husband of the deceased, had subjected the deceased to cruelty. 4. It is further alleged that the present petitioner is having illicit relationship with another woman. 5. According to the informant, the deceased was unable to endure the torture meted out to her by the present petitioner and therefore, she had to commit suicide. 6. Mr. Baruah has submitted that the witness examined by the police supported the allegations brought against the petitioner. 7. I have considered the submissions made by the learned counsels of both sides. 8. This Court is of the opinion that at this stage there are ground for believing that the present petitioner abetted the commission of suicide by the victim. 9. Accordingly, the bail application of the petitioner is allowed. 10. It is hereby directed that the petitioner, Abinas Mili @ Arun Mili, who was arrested in connection with Majuli P.S. Case No. 12/2026, shall be released on bail of ₹25,000/- with a surety of like amount to the satisfaction of the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Majuli.
