The present writ petition is filed seeking a declaration of the action of the respondents in threatening to demolish and dispossess the petitioners from the subject property without following due process of law. It is the specific case of the petitioners that they are in possession of small extents of land and have been living there for several years by constructing dwelling units. 2. It is submitted that the respondent authority has been holding out threats of demolition of the houses of the petitioners and dispossessing the petitioners from the said property. It is submitted that the petitioners are regularly paying the applicable property tax to respondent No.2. 3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondent Nos. 2 and 4, on written instructions, submits that the petitioners are encroachers of Government property and that the present writ petition is filed only apprehending that there would be some action by the respondent authorities. It is submitted that the respondent authorities shall issue appropriate notices in the event the respondent authority is required to reclaim the government land which is under occupation by the encroachers. 4. Recording the submissions, the writ petition stands disposed off, leaving it open for the respondent authorities to initiate appropriate action in accordance with law for reclaiming the encroached Government land.
