13.02.2026 Court No.39 DL/Item No.–5 (pp) IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA Special Civil Jurisdiction Appellate Side CPAN 346 of 2021 In WPA 10739 of 2020 Jahiruddin Dafadar versus Mr. Irfhan Ali Mr. Allen Felix ….for the Applicant/Petitioner Ms. Mitali Bhattacharya ….for the Alleged Contemnor By an order dated 19th December, 2025 passed in the presence of the applicant/petitioner and the alleged contemnor a date, time and venue was fixed when the petitioner was required to appear before the respondent no.4 in the writ petition wherefrom the order under contempt emanates. As and by way of abundant caution, the Divisional Engineer and Station Manager, Burdwan CCC-1, West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (n short, WBSEDCL) further informed the date, time and venue as fixed under the order dated 19th December, 2025. The said letter was duly received by the petitioner as will appear 2 from the postal track report placed before the Court, photocopy whereof is retained with the records. The petitioner did not turn up on the date, time and at the venue when such hearing was fixed. The respondent no.4, therefor, was compelled to pass a reasoned order. After considering such document placed before the Court by the learned advocate for the alleged contemnor, I find there is no reason to proceed any further with the contempt application. The contempt application is, therefor, disposed of. A copy of this order shall be sent to the petitioner by the learned advocate for the alleged contemnor and a copy thereof shall be affixed at a conspicuous place at the petitioner’s address.
