For Petitioner(s): M/s.G.Bala And Daisy For Respondent(s): Mr.C.Selvaraj, AGP for R.1 Mr.S.Gopinath, Standing Counsel for R.2 and R.3 ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:- “directing the second respondent herein to consider the petitioners representation dated 28.10.2025 regarding Retirement and terminal benefits in the light the orders passed by the first respondent herein in G.O.(D).No. 609 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (MC 3) Department dated 17/10/2025 with all consequential service and monetary benefits within a time- frame as deem fit and proper by this Honble Court.” 2. The petitioner’s case is that she was initially appointed as a Sanitary Worker with effect from 02.05.2007 at Puzhudhivakkam Panchayat (which was merged with the Corporation of Chennai on 25.10.2011) and retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on 31.08.2024. The petitioner would submit that some similarly placed persons have already obtained favourable orders from this Court regarding their terminal benefits and regularisation of service. In this regard, the petitioner made a representation to the 2nd respondent on 28.10.2025 seeking payment of terminal benefits. However, to date, the petitioner’s request has not been considered. Hence, the Writ Petition. 3. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records. 4. Considering the limited request of the petitioner and also taking note of the fact that the relief claimed by the petitioner in the instant case has already been extended to some similarly placed persons, the Writ Petition is allowed. The 2nd respondent is directed to consider and pass orders on the petitioner’s representation dated 28.10.2025 seeking terminal benefits, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
