For Petitioner(s): Mr.Deepanuday For Respondent(s): Mr.S.Vinoth Kumar Government Advocate (Criminal side) ORDER The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 05.06.2025 for the alleged offences under Section 316 (4), 318 (4) @ 316 (4), 318 (4), 336 (1), 340 (2), 238 of BNS, 2023, in Crime No.628 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail. 2. The case of the prosecution is that while the petitioner was working as Examiner in the Bomb Blast Court, Coimbatore, by forging the signature of the Presiding Officer taken out the valuable box from the Treasury and taken it to his home and opened it with the keys available with the office and taken away https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 7607 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 14 1/2 sovereigns of gold jewels and subsequently returned back as if it was returned from the office. Further, the gold jewels stolen were also been pledged in a private finance company. Hence the case. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is innocent and has been in custody since 05.06.2026. He further submitted that he is ready to abide by any stringent condition that may be imposed by this Court and ready to co-operate for investigation. Hence, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioner stole 14 ½ sovereigns of gold jewels from the Court’s case property. He further stated that the trial is at an advance stage of examination of Investigating Officer. Hence, he opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner. 5.Taking into consideration the facts of the case and the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate, this Court is of the firm view that it is not an appropriate stage to enlarge the petitioner on bail.
