This is an application under Section 447 of the BNSS, 2023 praying for transfer of Sessions Case No.11/2025 pending in the court of the learned Sessions Judge, Pasighat to the court of the Sessions Judge, Dhemaji at Assam. 3. The petitioner Saidul Ali is an accused before the trial court at Pasighat. He is a resident of Jonai, which is half an hour away from Pasighat. One day, while he was returning from Passighat after attending the court proceedings, he was chased by a lawyer who forcibly demanded ₹200,000/- from him. Therefore, the petitioner prays for transferring the case from Pasighat to Dhemaji. 4. It may be stated that the petitioner did not file any police case regarding the incident where Rs.200,000/- was demanded from him. 5. I have considered the submissions made by the learned counsels of both sides. 6. This Court is of the opinion that the ground on which the prayer of the petitioner is based, is not a ground calling for transfer of the case from one place to another. There is no doubt that the petitioner has failed to show sufficient reasons for accepting his prayer for transfer of the case from Pasighat to Dhemaji. Therefore, the transfer petition is found to be devoid of merit and dismissed accordingly. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
