This writ petition has been filed by Municipal Degree College Mussoorie through its Principal seeking the following reliefs: “I. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to forthwith grant approval to the Committee of Management of the Municipal Degree College, Mussoorie, District Dehradun. II. Issue a writ, order, or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding to the respondent University to take decision upon the requisitions dated 27.08.2025, 15.09.2025, and 8.10.2025 sent by the petitioner institution within any stipulated time bound period.” 3. It is contended that an administrator UKHC010110362026 2026:UHC:5202 was appointed to look after the affairs of petitioner college on 20.05.2024, the Board of Nagar Palika Parishad was reconstituted and a Chairman was also elected, who happens to be ex officio manager of petitioner college; however, the University has not granted approval to the Chairman for acting as President of the Committee of Management. 4. It is submitted that number of representations were made to H.N.B. Garhwal University, however, no decision has been taken thereupon. 5. Mr. Karitikey Hari Gupta, learned counsel appearing for the University, assures that decision, if already not taken on the representation, shall be taken as per law, expeditiously. 6. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with direction to the Registrar, H.N.B. Garhwal University to take decision on the representation dated 15.09.2025, as per law, within six weeks from date of presentation of certified copy of this order.
