The present writ petition has been filed complaining inaction on the part of the Municipal Authorities in failing to take appropriate steps for cleaning the open drains adjacent to the petitioner’s premises. 3. Having heard the learned Advocates for the respective parties and noting that an allegation has been made as regards maintenance of the open drain beside the petitioner’s premises and since the same may cause health hazards, I am of the view that Municipality should take appropriate steps to WPA 5087 of 2026 2 ensure that the open drains are kept clean and maintained. 4. With the above observations and directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. 5. There shall be no order as to costs. (Raja Basu Chowdhury, J.)
