He has been transferred from District Tehri to District Chamoli on administrative ground, vide order dated 25.05.2026 passed by Inspector General of Police, Garhwal Zone. 4. Petitioner contends that he has served at durgam places for seventeen years, therefore, he is entitled to be posted at a sugam place, as per provisions of Transfer Act, 2017. 5. Learned State Counsel, however, disputes the said contention and submits that petitioner has been transferred UKHC010109172026 2026:UHC:5153 based on some complaint. He further submits that Transfer Act, 2017 would not be applicable to police personnel, as they are governed by Uttarakhand Police Act, 2007. 6. Without going into the rival contentions raised by learned counsel for the parties, this Court thinks that ends of justice would be met, if petitioner is permitted to approach the competent authority by making representation. 7. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of by permitting the petitioner to make representation to the Inspector General of Police concerned. If he makes representation within ten days from today, decision thereupon shall be taken as per law, within six weeks thereafter.
