Heard Mr. D. Bhuyan, learned counsel for the petitioner; Mr. J. Chutiya, learned Senior Counsel assisted by Ms. S. Kemprai, learned Standing Counsel, KAAC for the respondent nos. 2, 3 & 5; and Mr. S. Dutta, learned Standing Counsel, Revenue & Disaster Management Department for the respondent no. 1. This writ petition was preferred seeking inter alia a direction to the respondent KAAC authorities to restore the petitioner’s name in a plot of land measuring 5 Bighas 2 Kathas 7 Lessas, covered by Dag no. 228/9 & 229/49 under Periodic Patta no. 99/50 situated at Village – Tiniali, Non K, Mouza – Langfer, District – Karbi Anglong and also to correct the land records pertaining to the said plot of land in terms of an Order dated 07.04.2014 passed by the Assam Board of Revenue, Assam in Case no. 78RA[KBR]/2010, which Order was not disturbed by this Court in an Order dated 09.01.2024 passed in W.P.[C] no. 3888/2014. Mr. Chutiya, learned Senior Counsel representing the respondent KAAC has submitted that the corrections pertaining to the afore-mentioned plot of land have been made in the relevant records, that is, in the office chitha and in jamabandi records. Page No.# 3/3 also placed a compliance report submitted by the respondent no. 5 before the Revenue Department, KAAC, Diphu, on 02.06.2026 along with an Office Letter bearing no. KAAC/Rev- 2355/Pt-1/2026/55 dated 30.05.2026 of the respondent no.
4, addressed to the respondent no. 5. In view of the above compliance report, the grievances projected by the petitioner in this writ petition are found to have been redressed. Therefore, there is no surviving cause of action to further proceed with the writ petition. The writ petition is accordingly, disposed of. The documents placed by Mr. Chutiya are to be kept with the case record marking it collectively as Document ‘X’. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
