Also heard Mr. R J Baruah, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State of Assam. 2. This application has been filed under Section 483 of the BNSS, 2023, whereby the petitioner, namely, Mehboob Ali @ Mehebub Ali @ Rahul has prayed for releasing him on bail after he was arrested in connection with Panbazar P.S. Case No.82/2026. Page No.# 2/2 3. On 22.02.2026 police got an information that a minor boy was selling narcotic drugs at Panbazar area. Upon receipt of the information, one Sub-Inspector of Police, namely, Mrinmoy Borah along with other staffs proceeded to the spot as per direction of the Officer- In-Charge of Panbazar Police Station. The Sub-Inspector of Police found that one minor boy was selling narcotic drugs at a price of Rs.7/- per container. 4. The minor boy told police that those articles were given to him by some other persons for sale. The said minor boy gave a statement before the Magistrate under Section 183 of the BNS, 2023. He stated before the Magistrate that a person called Sambhu had given those articles for sale at a price of Rs.7/- per container. 5. During the investigation the present petitioner Mehboob Ali @ Mehebub Ali @ Rahul was arrested by police. The amount of narcotic drugs recovered was 4.3 grams including the vials. 6. Apart from the aforesaid facts, there are no materials to justify further detention of the petitioner in custody. 7. Accordingly, the bail application of the petitioner is allowed. 8. It is hereby directed that the petitioner, Mehboob Ali @ Mehebub Ali @ Rahul, who was arrested in connection with Panbazar P.S. Case No.82/2026, shall be released on bail of ₹25,000/- with a surety of like amount to the satisfaction of the learned Special Judge, Kamrup (Metro), Guwahati. With the aforesaid direction, this bail application stands disposed of. The CD shall be returned. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
