JUSTICE SAMEER JAIN Judgment 04/05/2026 1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus for the correction of the petitioner’s date of birth in their Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Aadhaar Card. 2. Mr. Shashank, learned Amicus Curiae appointed to assist the Court, has apprised this Court of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) dated 19.07.2021 issued by the UIDAI (E&E Division) governing such corrections. [2026:RJ-JP:18867] (2 of 2) [CW-7878/2026] 3. It is submitted that bare perusal of the impugned rejection order (Annexure-6) reflects that the petitioner’s update request was rejected on account of certain specific and predefined reasons and that the said order itself outlines the appropriate grievance redressal mechanism available to the petitioner. It clearly stipulates that for the redressal of the said grievance, the petitioner can dial the toll-free helpline ‘1947’, correspond via email at ‘help@uidai.gov.in’, or approach the concerned Regional Office to process the necessary corrections. 4. In light of the aforesaid submissions and considering the steps outlined in the impugned order, this Court is disposing the present petition with liberty to the petitioner to avail the alternate efficacious remedy as provided under the UIDAI guidelines. 5. Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of. Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed. (SAMEER JAIN),J CHANDAN /13
