The petitioners were appointed as Lab Technicians in the Chemistry Department in Annamalai University on 01.11.2002 & 24.02.2003 respectively . Thereafter, their services were regularized. The grievance of the petitioners is that though they were appointed much prior to the issuance of G.O. (Ms).No.259, Finance (Pension) Department, dated 06.08.2003 which provides for Contributory Pension Scheme by cancelling the Old Pension Scheme, they were not brought under the Old Pension Scheme instead they were placed under Contributory Pension Scheme. Therefore, the petitioners submitted a representation dated 12.01.2026 to the respondents seeking to transfer their names from the Contributory Pension Scheme to the Old Pension Scheme. However, the said representation did not evoke any response from the respondents and therefore, in order to espouse the said cause, the present Writ Petitions have been filed. 4. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that this Court may issue a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioners’ representation dated 12.01.2026, within the time that may be stipulated by this Court. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP Nos. 7245 & 7249 of 2026 __________ Page4 of 6 5.
