Learned Additional Advocate General representing State submits that this writ petition is rendered infructuous in view of the fact that State Level Vigilance Committee has been constituted vide G.O.Ms.No.8 dated 30.06.2026 and necessary instructions have been issued to all District Collectors and District Civil Supplies Officers for constitution of Vigilance Committees at all prescribed levels under provisions of National Food Security Act, 2013 and for convening periodic meetings thereof. 3. Learned Additional Advocate General further, referring to action taken report filed along with memo dated 30.06.2026, submits that Government of Andhra Pradesh had earlier issued G.O.Ms.No.16, Consumer 2 HCJ & CGR, J WP(PIL)_77 of 2026 Affairs, Food & Civil Supplies Department dated 25.07.2023, prescribing constitution of Vigilance Committees at the State, District, Mandal and Fair Price Shop levels duly specifying their composition and functions. It is further submitted that vide instructions dated 01.05.2026 all District Collectors have been directed to take immediate steps for constitution of Vigilance Committees at the District, Mandal and Fair Price shop levels. 4. It is further submitted that necessary steps shall be taken to ensure that State Level Vigilance Committee convenes its meetings at the prescribed intervals and discharges functions as ordained in G.O.Ms.No.16 dated 25.07.2023 as well as Order dated 20.03.2015 issued by Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. 5. Learned counsel for petitioner submits that the steps as above are satisfactory but needful should be done within a prescribed timeline. 6. Keeping in view the facts and circumstances as above, proceedings in this writ petition, at this stage, are closed with a direction that Vigilance Committees at all prescribed levels be constituted and operationalised within a period of two months from today. Furthermore, necessary steps shall be taken by respondents to ensure compliance of G.O.Ms.16 as well as order dated 20.03.2015. No costs.
