By means of this writ petition, petitioners have sought the following reliefs: “(i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to do measurement of the petitioners’ land/chack no. 433 situated at Village-Dhanauri, P.O. Dhanauri, Pargana & Tehsil Roorkee, District Haridwar, otherwise the Petitioners shall suffer irreparable loss and injury. (ii) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents the measurement will take place in the presence of the Police personal, otherwise the petitioners shall suffer irreparable loss and injury.” (3) Since petitioners have approached Settlement Officer of Consolidation by making a representation, therefore, writ petition is disposed of by directing the concerned authority to take decision on the said representation, as per law, within six weeks from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order. (4) It goes without saying that all parties, likely to be affected by the decision to be taken, shall also be given reasonable opportunity of hearing before taking decision in the matter.
