Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and both the learned Government Advocate accepting notice for the first respondent as well as the learned Standing Counsel accepting notice for respondents 2 to 6. 3. The case of the petitioners is as follows: (a) The subject property belongs to the petitioners. They are in the process of establishing a cotton processing industry in the subject https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.8939 of 2026 __________ Page4 of 6 property. The grievance of the petitioners is that a new hotel is being set up on the northern side of the subject property and in order to provide electricity connection to the hotel, respondents 4 to 6 started erecting poles bisecting the subject property on 23.2.2026 without their knowledge and consent and without providing any opportunity of hearing to the petitioners. (b) Earlier, when an attempt was made by respondents 2 to 6 to install high tension cables in the subject property, the petitioners were compelled to pay a sum of Rs.3,99,750/- for shifting of the high tension cables. But, once again, respondents 2 to 6 are attempting to erect poles. Expressing their grievance, the second petitioner sent a representation dated 21.2.2026 to respondents 2 to 5. As it did not evoke any response, the petitioners are before this Court. 4. Considering the limited nature of the relief sought for and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the fourth respondent to consider the said representation dated 21.2.2026 on merits and pass appropriate orders https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.8939 of 2026 __________ Page5 of 6 thereon in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
