The grievance of the petitioner in this writ petition is that, dispite several complaints, which includes the last such complaint, dated 10.06.2025, the respondent has not been able to provide water supply to the petitioner at the address morefully disclosed in the prayer to this writ petition. The petitioner claims that she is 86 years old and has been made to run from pillar to post for getting clean water supply to her house at the address morefully disclosed in the prayer to this writ petition. 3. Ms.K.Vasanthamala, learned Standing Counsel, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. On instructions, she would submit that proposals have been sent to the Managing Director of the respondent by the concerned officials seeking to ensure water supply to the petitioner’s premises and she would also submit that within a period of four months from today, the same will be rectified by the respondent ensuring continuous and clean water supply to the petitioner’s premises at the address morefully disclosed in the prayer to this writ petition. It is also submitted that at the expense of the respondent insofar as the outside work that is outside the petitioner’s premises is concerned, the cost of the same will be borne by the respondent. However, with regard to the cost to be incurred for ensuring effective water supply to the petitioner’s house within the petitioner’s premises, the said cost, if required, will have to be spent by the Page No.2 of 4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.10473 of 2026 petitioner. The undertaking given by the respondent through the learned Standing Counsel as stated supra is recorded. The learned counsel for the petitioner is also satisfied with the same. 4. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to ensure continuous and clean water supply to the petitioner at the address morefully disclosed in the prayer to this writ petition, within a period of four (4) months from the date of uploading of this order in the official website of this Court. The undertaking given by the respondent that all the cost to be incurred with regard to the laying of the pipelines and fixing the other materials for ensuring clean water supply to the petitioner outside the petitioner’s premises shall be made solely by the respondent is also recorded. If at all, there is a need for expenditure to be incurred within the petitioner’s premises, the same shall be borne by the petitioner.
