As directed earlier on 06.04.2026 the State respondent prayed for time to ascertain from the concerned department whether the vacancy has been filled or not. 2. Upon receiving instruction received from the department, he has been informed that the license has already been granted in favour of the legal heirs of the deceased on 19.01.2026 in favour of one Nabin Sundar Hara, on compassionate grounds. 3. The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits the petitioner is entitled to seek redress in the appropriate forum for compensation in as much as a licence has been granted on 3.3.2025 and the petitioner is eligible for compensation owing to departmental errors. 4. The petitioner is granted liberty to approach the appropriate forum for redress of his 2 compensation related grievances. The license granted in favour of the writ petitioner stands quashed and set aside on the ground that the license has already been granted to the legal heirs of the original license holder on compassionate ground. 5. The writ petition being WPA 3071 of 2026 is disposed of without going into the merits of the case. 6. Since no affidavits have been filed that the allegation made in the writ petition shall be deemed to have been denied and not admitted. (Smita Das De, J.)
