IN THE HIGH COURT OF HIMACHAL PRADESH AT SHIMLA CWP No.86 of 2026 Decided on 17th March, 2026 Birbal Singh …Petitioner Versus State of Himachal Pradesh and another …Respondents Coram Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ajay Mohan Goel, Judge 1Whether approved for reporting? For the petitioner: Mr. Suresh Singh Saini, Advocate. For the respondents: Mr. Rahul Thakur, Deputy Advocate General. Ajay Mohan Goel, Judge (Oral) By way of this petition, the petitioner has assailed the transfer order dated 30.12.2025, in terms whereof, the petitioner has been transferred from D.C. Office Kinnaur at Reckong-Peo to Tehsil office Pooh. The petitioner is serving as a Driver. 2. On a query put to the Court as to what is the stay of the petitioner at Reckong-Peo, the Court was informed that the petitioner has been serving there since 2007. 2 3. In this light of the fact that the petitioner has been serving at Reckong-Peo for more than 17 years, this Court sees no reason to interfere with the transfer order, and on this count alone, the petition is dismissed. The contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has an ailing wife to look after also does not find favour with this Court, because, there are adequate medical facilities available at Pooh also. 4. Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, also stand disposed of. (Ajay Mohan Goel) Judge March 17, 2026 (Vinod)
