Despite of service of notice, no appearance is entered on behalf of respondent No.7. 3. The grievance of the petitioner in the present Writ Petition is against the illegal action of the 7th respondent in digging the tanks for aquaculture in the lands meant for agricultural purposes, admeasuring Ac.13.02 cents in Sy.Nos.239/1 and 239/3, situated at Pullaripalem Village, Vetapalem Mandal, Bapatla District. 4. It is contended that the said unlawful activity was not prevented by the revenue authorities, though the 6th respondent was under an obligation to stop the 7th respondent from illegally digging the aquaculture tanks. 5. It is contended by the learned counsel for the petitioner that such unauthorized digging and operation of tanks using saline water for the purpose of prawn culture in agricultural lands would adversely affect the agricultural potentiality of the soil. In the said regard, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 24.04.2026 to the Mandal Revenue Officer regarding the illegal digging and to respondent Nos.2 to 5. No action has been taken on the said representation. Hence, the present Writ Petition. 6. Today, when the matter has been taken up for consideration, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Fisheries has placed before the Court a 3 copy of the written remarks furnished by the 4th respondent dated 11.06.2026. A perusal of the same would reflect that, pursuant to the complaint made by the petitioner, the Assistant Director of Fisheries, Chirala, and the Village Revenue Officer, Pullaripalem, inspected the subject land where the digging of the tanks has been carried on. An enquiry was conducted, and it was found that the 7th respondent had been unauthorizedly digging the tanks. Immediately, the 7th respondent was directed to stop the unauthorized digging activities and it is reported that as on date, no such unauthorized digging activity is being carried on. 7. Having regard to the above, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the Writ Petition with a direction to the respondent authorities to take all necessary measures to prevent any illegal digging and unauthorized aquaculture operations in respect of the subject land of Ac.13.02 cents in Sy.Nos.239/1 and 239/3 situated at Pullaripalem Village, Vetapalem Mandal, Bapatla District. 8. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
