This is an application under Section 483 of the BNSS, 2023 whereby the petitioner, namely- Sanu Das @ Shanu Das has prayed for releasing him on bail after he was arrested in connection with Paltanbazar P.S. Case No.129/2026 under Sections 21(b)/28/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 read with Section 115(2)/127(7)/308(2)/62/3(5) of the BNS, 2023. 3. It is alleged in the FIR that the petitioner had tried to extort money from four narcotic drugs peddlers. But there was no delivery of money. The drug peddlers were also assaulted by the petitioner and some other persons. 4. The petitioner has already spent 20 days in judicial custody. 5. I have considered the submissions made by the learned counsels for both sides. 6. Under the given circumstances, the petitioner no longer deserves to be detained in custody. His bail application is allowed. 7. The petitioner, namely- Sanu Das @ Shanu Das who was arrested in connection with Paltanbazar P.S. Case No.129/2026 under Sections 21(b)/28/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 read with Section 115(2)/ 127(7)/ 308 (2)/62/3(5) of the BNS, 2023, shall be released on bail of ₹25,000/- with a surety of like amount to the satisfaction of the learned Special Judge, Assam, Kamrup(M) at Guwahati.
