Petitioner claims to be Ex-Chairman of Central Cooperative Society known as “Doon Cooperative Store Limited, Dehradun”. According to petitioner, the election programme was notified by State Cooperative Election Tribunal, Dehradun on 13.03.2026 in respect of Central Cooperative Societies, including Doon Cooperative Stone Limited, however, from the subsequent notification issued on 22.05.2026, Doon Cooperative Store Ltd. was dropped. This, according to the petitioner, is impermissible in view of provision contained in Rule 17 of Uttarakhand State Cooperative Societies Election Rules, 2018. 7. Learned State Counsel, however, UKHC010091872026 2026:UHC:5001 submits complaints were received that some bogus members are included in the voter list of Doon Cooperative Store Ltd. and there are certain members, who are no more alive, therefore, having regard to the complaints received, it was decided by District Assistant Registrar that election in respect of said society be held after concluding enquiry into the complaints. 8. Learned State Counsel submits that enquiry is already instituted and some time would be needed for concluding the enquiry. 9. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to Registrar, Cooperative Societies to have the enquiry concluded in respect of members of Doon Cooperative Store Ltd., as early as possible, but not later than six weeks from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order.
