Mr. M.C. Upadhyaya, learned counsel for the petitioners. 2. Mr. I.P. Kohli, learned Standing Counsel for the State of Uttarakhand. 3. According to petitioners, they belong to Other Backward Classes and are entitled to certificate to that effect. Petitioners applied for caste certificate. Their request has been turned down asking them to apply afresh, disclosing the correct name of father of petitioner No. 2. 4. As per the rejection order, there is some discrepancy in the name of father of petitioner No.2, as indicated in his application. 5. Learned State counsel submits that in the caste certificate issued to petitioner no. 1, his name is Manjhale, while in the application filed by petitioner no. 2, his name is mentioned as Mohd. Hanif. Learned State Counsel submits that no prejudice is caused to petitioners by rejection of the application, as he has been asked to apply afresh. 6. This Court does not find any reason to interfere with the impugned rejection order. Since petitioner has been given opportunity to apply afresh, therefore, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction, if petitioner no. 2 apply again for issuance of caste certificate, giving 2026:UHC:4805 correct particulars about his father and furnishes other relevant information, then Competent Authority shall examine petitioners’ claim and take decision, as per law, within ten weeks from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order.
