02/ 22.04.2026: Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State.
2. The petitioner is apprehending her arrest in connection with Adityapur P.S. Case No. 299 of 2025, registered under sections 103/3(5) of BNS, 2023, pending in the Court of learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Seraikella.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner happens to be mother-in-law of the deceased and allegation of assault by knife is against the husband of petitioner and apart from that there is nothing against the petitioner and in view of that petitioner may kindly be provided privilege of anticipatory bail.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer and submits that in para 31 of the case diary it has come that petitioner was involved in assault however allegation of assault by knife is against husband of the petitioner. He next submits that in para 32 of the case diary it has been disclosed that in CCTV petitioner was also found making quarrel with the deceased and in view of that anticipatory bail may kindly be rejected.

The petitioner happens to be mother-in-law of the deceased. In para 31 of the case diary it has come that petitioner was involved in assault however allegation of assault by knife is there against
( 2026:JHHC:11708 ) husband of the petitioner. In para 32 of the case diary it has been disclosed that in CCTV petitioner was also found making quarrel with the deceased.

In the attending facts and circumstances of the case, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner and accordingly, his prayer for anticipatory bail is hereby rejected.
