4. This writ petition has been filed by petitioner seeking a writ of mandamus commanding the respondents to regularize the services of petitioner on the post of Driver in the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation.
5. It is the case of petitioner that petitioner was engaged by the Transport Corporation on 08.05.1998 on contractual basis. Since then, petitioner is discharging his duties as Driver with the Transport Corporation without any complaint and to the satisfaction of his employer. The petitioner claims that petitioner is working for the last 28 years as contractual driver with the respondent Corporation and his case is matured enough to regularize his service on the post of Driver with the Transport Corporation. Therefore, petitioner made a request to this Court directing the respondents to regularize the services of petitioner on the post of regular driver with the Transport Corporation.

Learned Counsel for the Transport Corporation submits that if petitioner would make a representation to the competent authority/respondent no.2-General

Manager (Operation), the same shall be considered by the Transport Corporation according to law.
7. In such view of the matter, this writ petition is
disposed of. It is directed that the petitioner shall file a representation within two weeks from today to respondent no.2 ventilating his grievance and requesting for regularization. If such a representation is filed by petitioner, the same shall be considered and decided either by respondent no.2, or any other Officer competent to pass
order of regularization, in accordance with law within eight weeks from the date of receipt of representation by passing a speaking and reasoned order. While deciding the representation, the longstanding service rendered by petitioner on contractual basis would also be considered.
