For the Petitioner Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record. The respondents are not represented despite service. Being aggrieved by the order passed by the Block Development Officer, Nabagram Development Block on 16th September, 2025, turning down the prayer of the petitioner for disqualification of the private respondent as member of the Gram Panchayat, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the appellate authority being the District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer. Though the notice of appeal was issued upon the parties, the appeal is still pending. The petitioner prays for a direction upon the appellate authority being the 3rd respondent herein, for disposal of the appeal within a stipulated time frame. Upon consideration of the submission made on behalf of the petitioner, this Court is inclined to hold that since the appeal is pending before the appellate authority for long, the appellate authority being the 3rd respondent herein is directed to dispose of the appeal within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order in accordance with law. The writ petition is thus disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 2 Since no affidavit has been invited, allegations contained in the writ petition shall be deemed not to have been admitted.
