This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking protection from respondent nos. 4 and 5, who are stated to be the father and brother of the petitioner. 3. Perusal of the documents brought on record reveals that the petitioner is 19 years of age. The writ petition came up for admission before a Coordinate Bench of this Court on 25.05.2026. On the said date, considering the submissions advanced on behalf of the parties, the Coordinate Bench directed the parties to file their respective affidavits, as the private respondents were not opposed to the petitioner marrying a person of her own choice. The matter was thereafter directed to be listed on 01.06.2026. However, on account of paucity of time, the matter could not be taken up on the said date. 4. When the matter is taken up today, neither the petitioner nor learned counsel appearing on her behalf is present before the Court, either physically or through Video Conferencing. 5. Learned State Counsel, on 2026:UHC:4762 instructions received from the Station House Officer, Police Station Khanpur, District Haridwar, submits that a police team was deputed to verify the address furnished by the petitioner in the writ petition. However, the petitioner was not found residing at the said address. It has further been reported that the petitioner has not been residing there since 21.05.2026. 6. Learned State Counsel, therefore, submits that, in view of the absence of the petitioner and her counsel, coupled with the fact that the petitioner is not residing at the address disclosed in the writ petition, it appears that she is no longer desirous of pursuing the relief sought in the present petition. 7. In the aforesaid circumstances, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the present writ petition pending. 8. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed.
