WPMS/1514/2026
Hon’ble Manoj Kumar Tiwari, J
1. Mr. Vikas Kumar Guglani, learned counsel for the petitioner.
2. Mr. Suyash Pant, learned Additional C.S.C. for the State of Uttarakhand.
3. Ms. Anjali Bhargava, learned counsel for respondent no. 7.
4. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following relief:-
(i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent no. 4 to decide the representation dated 16.05.2026 of the petitioner as per law within the time bound period. (Annexure No. 1 to this writ petition) (Page Nos. 18 to 21)
5. Learned State Counsel submits that petitioner had applied for mutation of his name after death of his sister, who was spinster and issueless. He further submits that order on petitioner’s application has been passed by the Competent Authority and petitioner’s name has been recorded in the revenue record. Thus, he submits that relief, sought in the writ petition, does not survive. The order of mutation passed in favour of petitioner is produced in Court by learned State Counsel, which is taken on record.
6. In such view of the matter, this Court is of the opinion that the relief, as claimed in the writ petition, does not survive. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed.
