Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioners is taken on record. 2. Learned advocate representing the petitioners submits that they purchased land in question but were prevented by the private respondents to cultivate the land and petitioners’ peaceful possession over the land in question was disturbed by the private respondents. 3. Prayer is made by the petitioners thereby giving direction upon the concerned police authorities which would facilitate the petitioners to enjoy peaceful possession and cultivate the land in question. 4. Inspite of service of notice respondent nos.7 & 8 are not represented today. 5. However, State respondents are represented by learned advocate who has filed a communication dated 6th August, 2025 of Officer-in-Charge, [2] Sundarban Coastal Police Station, Baruipur Police District and same is taken on record. Copy of the communication dated 6th August, 2025 is made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioners. 6. It is disclosed in the communication dated 6th August, 2025 that the dispute in between the petitioners and the private respondents centers around the land in question as both are claiming right over the said land. In order to maintain peace and tranquility one prosecution being Sundarban Coastal P.S. NCR No.27 of 2025 dated 15th March, 2025 under Sections 126/135 (3) of BNSS was submitted. 7. Having considered the submissions made on behalf of the petitioners and State respondents and taking note of the communication dated 6th August, 2025, it appears that petitioners and private respondents are claiming right over an agricultural land in question requiring the parties to approach the appropriate forum. 8. Police authority is not the appropriate authority to decide inter se right of the parties over the agricultural land in question. 9. Writ petition stands disposed of thereby directing the concerned police authority to maintain peace and tranquility at the locale. [3] 10.
