Mr. Ankur Sharma, learned counsel for the petitioner. 2. Mr. Dinesh Chauhan, learned A.G.A. for the State. 3. The present writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed by the victim seeking the following reliefs:- “(i) Issue a writ of mandamus, or any other appropriate writ, order or direction, transferring the investigation of FIR No. 0129 of 2026, Police Station Rishikesh, District Dehradun, from the present Special Investigation Team (SIT)/local police to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), or in the alternative, to the Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Department (CBCID), Uttarakhand, to ensure a fair, impartial and expeditious investigation. (ii) Direct the respondent authorities to provide adequate police protection to the Petitioner and her family members to safeguard their life and liberty.” 4. It is contended by learned counsel for the petitioner-victim that pursuant to the FIR, after investigation, chargesheet was filed only against respondent no. 10, whereas, the other co-accused respondent nos. 8 and 9 were exonerated; that the investigation was conducted in a very partial manner just to favour respondent nos. 8 and 9. Thus, it is prayed by learned counsel for the petitioner that further investigation be done through CBI or CBCID. The Coordinate Bench of this Court on previous dates required the S.S.P., Dehradun to appear in this case. Pursuant to the order passed by this Court, S.S.P., Dehradun appeared on 30.05.2026 through video conferencing and the Court directed him to constitute a special team of officials for further investigation in the matter. 5. Today, learned A.G.A. for the State, on instructions, would submit that a special team has been constituted for further investigation in the matter. As such, the grievance of the petitioner does not survive any more. 6. In view of the aforesaid submission made by learned State Counsel, the writ petition stands disposed of accordingly.
