Since common questions of facts and law are involved in these petitions, therefore, these are being heard and decided together. However, for the sake of brevity and convenience, facts of Writ Petition (MS) No. 1720 of 2026, alone are being considered and discussed. 3. According to the petitioner, his mother Bhuri Devi was a construction worker and was registered as such with Uttarakhand Building and other Construction Workmen Welfare Board, who passed away on 02.12.2025. 4. According to the petitioner, construction workers are entitled to certain benefits, including death benefit under the Scheme introduced by the aforesaid Board; however, benefit of that scheme is not being given to petitioner, even though he had applied for such benefit on 11.05.2026. 5. Since benefit admissible under the Scheme 2026:UHC:4590 has not been released in favour of the petitioner, therefore he has approached this Court, seeking a direction to the competent authority to consider his claim for releasing Rs. 3.00 lakh in his favour under Building and other Construction Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Scheme. 6. Learned counsel appearing for respondent No. 2 concedes that petitioner’s mother was registered with the Board, however, he submits that registration expired on 02.01.2025 and on the date of her death, she was not registered. 7. Be that as it may, since petitioner’s mother was a construction worker and she was also registered with the Board till January, 2025, therefore having regard to the facts of the case, the writ petitions are disposed of with a direction to the competent authority in the Board to take decision on petitioner’s application dated 11.05.2026, as per law, within four weeks from date of presentation of certified copy of this order. 8. The benefit found admissible shall be released in favour of the petitioners or other dependent family members, within four weeks from taking such decision.
