This writ petition has been filed by petitioner seeking a direction to the respondents to make payment of GPF to the petitioner along with interest @10% per annum from the date of her retirement till the actual payment is made. 5. Learned Counsel for petitioner submits that petitioner, who was working as Assistant Teacher in the Education Department of the State, retired from her service on 31.10.2025. For the last more than seven months, GPF of petitioner has not been paid. 6. A Co-ordinate Bench of this Court has directed the respondents to seek instructions into the matter as to why the GPF amount has not been paid to the petitioner. Today, instructions have been received by the respondents. The same are produced before the Court and are taken on record. 7. It is contended by learned State Counsel that petitioner was appointed on 21.12.2005 as Assistant Teacher, Primary School and she was under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) where there was no provision for contribution towards GPF. The services of petitioner stood transferred to the Old Pension Scheme on 06.03.2025. Since the petitioner had retired on 31.10.2025, no contribution was made by petitioner in 2026:UHC:4627 the GPF account which was allotted to petitioner only on 08.10.2025. He further informed this Court that the amount deposited by petitioner in the contributory provident fund under the New Pension Scheme is to be transferred to the new GPF Account. 8. According to petitioner, GPF Account No.COEDUA- 54230 was allotted to petitioner on 08.10.2025, information of which was received in the office of respondent no.2 on 13.10.2025. The respondents further informed that the amount deposited in the contributory provident fund by petitioner is yet to be transferred in the aforesaid GPF account of petitioner and the process is on for which petitioner was also informed by respondent no.4 on 26.05.2026. 9. In such view of the matter, since the process for payment of GPF including contributory provident fund contributed by petitioner under the NPS is underway, this Court expects from the respondents to take a speedy decision thereon. 10. The present petition is thus, finally disposed of. The respondents are directed to ensure making payment of 90% of GPF amount to petitioner within two months from today. Remaining 10% GPF amount be paid to the petitioner within one month thereafter along with interest calculated on the amount as per rules. (Pankaj Purohit, J.) 10.06.2026 R.Dang
