Shylla, learned counsel who submits that he is on caveat, is present on behalf of the respondent No. 5. 2026:MLHC:980 4. The petitioners herein are aggrieved with the alleged inaction on the part of the respondent No. 3, in instituting an enquiry into the affairs of the Sordar of Raid Nongshken. 5. It is submitted by Mr. E.K. Sutnga, learned counsel for the petitioners that the respondent No. 5, in spite there being allegations against him, has been allowed by the respondent No. 3, to conduct the affairs of the Raid, and in this connection has also summoned Dorbars. He therefore, prays for appropriate orders to at least restrain the functioning of the respondent No. 5, in the matters of the Raid. 6. Ms. P.S. Nongbri, learned counsel for the respondents Nos. 1 & 2, has however, drawn the attention of this Court to Annexure-14, which is a petition appended to the writ petition, which she submits, the writ petitioners themselves have approached the respondents Nos. 1 & 2, with regard to the same reliefs. She further submits that as the matter has just been received and notices issued, the writ petition before this Court is premature, inasmuch as, the respondents Nos. 1 & 2, will deal with the matter and dispose of the same in accordance with law. 7. Mr. T.T. Diengdoh, learned Senior counsel assisted by Mr. J. Shylla, learned counsel for the respondent No. 5, submits that he has no objection to the submission made by the learned counsel for the 2026:MLHC:980 respondents Nos. 1 & 2, and the writ petition may perhaps be disposed of at this stage itself. 8. On hearing the learned counsel for the parties and without further issuance of notice to the other parties, as the subject matter is short, this writ petition is hereby disposed of by directing the respondents Nos. 1 & 2, to take up the representation preferred by the writ petitioners, which is pending consideration and to dispose of the same preferably within a period of 4(four) weeks, from the date of this order is presented before the concerned respondents. 9. It is further made clear that concerned parties in the matter shall not take unnecessary adjournments and to extend full cooperation, so that the matter can be resolved at the earliest. 10. As ordered above, the matter stands closed and is accordingly disposed of. JUDGE Meghalaya 03.09.2026 “V. Lyndem-AR-PS” 2026:MLHC:980 Digitally signed by VALENTINO LYNDEM Date: 2026.09.03 16:18:53 IST
