The Petitioner case is that, through the RTI Act, he came to know that the 2nd respondent Society has been functioning without periodic renewal, as required under the Societies Registration Act, and therefore in violation of its Rules and Regulations. Therefore, the petitioner had submitted a representation dated 08.12.2025 to the 1st respondent, requesting cancellation of the Society’s registration and imposition of penalties in accordance with law. The representation was received by the 1st respondent on 10.12.2025. However, no effective action has been taken thereon to date. Considering the limited request of the petitioner and taking note of the fact that the petitioner's representation dated 08.12.2025 has not been considered to date, the Writ Petition is allowed. The 1st respondent is directed to dispose of the petitioner’s representation dated 08.12.2025, on merits and in accordance with law, after giving an opportunity of hearing to all the interested parties, within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
