Sundari, learned GA appeared on behalf of the respondent No. 1, 2 & 3. None appeared on behalf of respondent Nos. 4 to 10. [2] The present writ petition has been filed with a prayer, inter alia, for quashing and setting aside the impugned letter dated 17-02-2026 issued by the Deputy Registrar of Societies, Government of Manipur. When this matter is taken up today, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners will be satisfied for the time being if the present application is disposed of by issuing a simple direction to the Registrar of Societies, Government of Manipur (respondent No. 2) to consider the representation dated 12-02-2026 submitted by the petitioners on its own merit and strictly in terms of the LAISHRA M DHAKESH ORI DEVI Digitally signed by LAISHRAM DHAKESHORI DEVI Date: 2026.07.30 11:43:15 +05'30' WP(C) No. 250 of 2026 Page 2 applicable act and rules and to dispose of the same by issuing a speaking order within a stipulated period. [3] Mrs. Ch. Sundari, learned GA appearing for the respondent Nos. 1, 2 & 3 fairly submitted that as the prayer made on behalf of the petitioners is confined to the consideration and disposal of the representation submitted by the petitioners, she has no objection in disposing of the present writ petition as prayed for. However, the learned GA submitted that a rider may be added to the extent that the respondent No. 2 should issue notice and give an opportunity of being heard to the private respondent Nos. 4 to 10 at the time of consideration and disposal of the said representation submitted by the petitioners. [4] Considering the submission advanced by the learned counsel appearing for the parties and the limited prayer made on behalf of the petitioners, this Court is of the considered view that it will serve the interest of justice to issue the following directions :- (i) The Registrar of Societies, Government of Manipur is hereby directed to consider the aforesaid representation dated 12-02-2026 submitted by the petitioners on its own merit and strictly in terms of the applicable act and rules. WP(C) No. 250 of 2026 Page 3 (ii) At the time of considering the said representation the respondent No. 2 should issue notice to the respondent No. 4-10 and to give an opportunity of being heard before taking a decision in connection with the said representation. (iii) The whole exercise of considering and disposing of the said representation should be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. (iv) It is made clear that the aforesaid direction has been given on the consensus arrived at between the parties without touching upon the merit of the present writ petition.
