JUSTICE ANU SIVARAMAN) We have heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner as well as the learned High Court Government Pleader appearing for the respondents- Officials. We have also interacted with the alleged detenue as well as her parents, who are present before the Court today. 2. The alleged detenue tells us that she has attained the age of 18 and is an adult. She further states that she has married one Mr. Dinesh and that she wishes to go back with him. She states that she is not under any illegal detention and that she is with Mr. Dinesh on her own volition. 3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the alleged detenue is an unstable person and that she cannot takes decision on her own. However, having interacted with the alleged detenue, we are of the opinion that in view of the admitted fact that she is an - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:12602-DB WPHC No. 14 of 2026 adult and she states that she is not under any illegal detention, we cannot direct her to reside with her parents without her consent. 4. In the above view of the matter, we close this writ petition recording that the alleged detenue is not under any illegal detention. The alleged detenue also informs us that the marriage conducted yesterday will be duly registered in accordance with law and that she will take steps to complete her education.
