Petitioner, through the medium of this petition, claiming to hold a Passport bearing No. M3778779, issued by the competent authority on 09.12.2014, valid upto 08.12.2024, for a period of ten years, alleges that the respondents have not renewed his passport, despite applying for the same on 03.12.2025, along with the requisite formalities and the petitioner has been suffering on this count, as the petitioner being a businessman has to travel abroad. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though, two cases had been registered against the petitioner vide FIR No. 153/2019, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 382, 342, 420 & 506 RPC and FIR No. 84/2024, for the commission of offences punishable under Section 420 IPC registered at Police Station, Saddar, Srinagar, and that investigation in both the cases has been stayed by this Court, as such, petitioner has not been facing prosecution before any Court of law and that the respondents are under an obligation to renew the passport, in favour of the petitioner. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner would feel satisfied, in case the present petition is disposed of at this stage, with a direction to respondent No. 3, to consider the case of the petitioner for renewal of his passport, in accordance with law. 4. Learned counsel appearing for the respondents have not resisted the plea raised by the learned counsel for the petitioner, in case the present petition is disposed in terms of the direction, as prayed for. 5. In view of the aforestated background, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 3, to consider the plea raised by the petitioner in the present petition and to decide his application moved by the petitioner for renewal of his passport, in accordance with law, expeditiously within a period of four weeks, with copy of the order to the petitioner for his information. 6.
