The petitioner, through the medium of this petition, allegedly having aggrieved of the exorbitant inflated electricity bill issued by the respondent Nos. 3 & 4 by virtue of which the petitioner has been directed to deposit an amount of Rs. 25,10,842/- with respect to the consumption of the electricity where the petitioner is a registered consumer bearing ID No. 0112010005795 (5972620000). 2. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner had approached the Internal Grievances Redressal Cell, Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Serial No. 141 2 WP(C) No. 517/2026 Limited Jammu by filing a statutory appeal before the Chairperson, Executive Engineer, JPDCL Division Katra on 02.02.2026 and that his appeal was required to be decided within a period of 07 days, however, the petitioner’s appeal has not been disposed of by the appellate authority and electric connection of the petitioner’s guest house has been disconnected in the month of December, 2025 due to which, the petitioner has been suffering for non-supply of power to run the guest house. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner will be satisfied in case a direction is passed to the Internal Grievances Redressal Cell, Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited Jammu, Division Katra (Executive Engineer) to decide the appeal filed by the petitioner expeditiously and in case the appeal is not decided at the earliest, the restoration of the connection in favour of the petitioner’s guest house be considered with the deposit of 25 % of the amount which has been shown to be payable by the petitioner. 4. In view of the pleads and submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the instant petition is disposed of at this stage with a direction to Internal Grievances Redressal Cell, Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited Jammu, Division Katra (Executive Engineer) to decide the appeal filed by the petitioner expeditiously and in case the appeal is not decided at the earliest, the restoration of the connection in favour of the petitioner’s guest house be considered with the deposit of 25 % of the amount which has been shown to be payable by the petitioner. 5.
