The petitioner seeks grant of family pension. Mr. Mahato, learned counsel appearing for the State, fairly submits that all requisite documents for release of family pension have already been forwarded to respondent no. 2, namely the Director of Pension, Provident Fund and Group Insurance, by the Block Development Officer, Bagnan-I Development Block, Howrah, on October 17, 2023. There ought not to be any unnecessary delay in releasing the family pension in favour of the petitioner, if she is otherwise legally entitled thereto. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon respondent no. 2, the Director of Pension, Provident Fund and Group Insurance, to take all necessary steps for release of the petitioner’s family pension in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order. WPA 29914 of 2024 is accordingly disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
