A report has been submitted by the Assistant Engineer, WRD, Irrigation Section, Pennagaram which is signed on 02.02.2026, stating that as per the approved design, the petitioner’s land will not be prone to backwater effect or flooding. However, as a precautionary measure, earthen bunds will be provided on either side of the check dam, which, according to the Engineer, will safeguard the petitioner’s land. 3. The said report is taken on file and the Writ Petition is disposed of in terms of the said report. It is needless to state that if any damage is caused despite the measures taken, the State shall ensure adequate compensation to the petitioner.
