Petitioner challenged election of respondent no. 2 by filing an election petition under Section 131-H of Uttarakhand Panchyati Raj Act, 2016 before Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Haridwar. 5. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought a direction to the Prescribed Authority to decide the Election Petition No. 9/2022-23 as early as possible. 6. Perusal of the record reveals that the election petition was filed in the month of November, 2022. 7. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that term of respondent no. 2 will come to an end, within next one year. 8. Having regard to the facts of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a request to Prescribed Authority to make endeavour to decide Election Petition No. 9/2022-23 as early as 2026:UHC:4540 possible, preferably within six months from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order.
