Mr. Dushyant Mainali, learned counsel for the petitioner. 2. Mr. Yogesh Pandey, learned Deputy Advocate General for the State of Uttarakhand. 3. Mr. Sanjay Bhatt, learned counsel for the respondent. 4. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following reliefs:- (i) To issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing and commanding the respondent authorities to ensure free, fair and transparent election of Nagar Panchayat, Garhinegi, District Udham Singh Nagar regarding General Election-2026, in terms of the guidelines issued by this Hon’ble Court in the case of Vipul Jain v. State of Uttarakhand (WPPIL No. 21 of 2019), particularly in terms of sub-para (33) of Para 117. (ii) To issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing and commanding the respondent authorities to decide the representation of the petitioner (Annexure No. 4 to the writ petition) positively at the earliest but before commencement of the counting process, in terms of sub-para (33) of Para 117 of the judgment in the case o f Vipul Jain v. State of Uttarakhand (WPPIL No. 21 of 2019). 5. Learned State Counsel submits that the writ petition is misconceived, as petitioner does not have any valid reason to believe that the election will not be held in a free and fair manner. He further submits that in his representation, petitioner has requested for installing 2026:UHC:4549 CCTV Cameras at Polling Centres and Strong Rooms. He submits that State Election Commission has taken all necessary steps to ensure that no untoward incident occurs and the purity of election is not compromised. He submits that the direction as sought for cannot be granted, as issuance of such direction will amount to interference with the field reserved for Election Commission. 6. Learned counsel for the petitioner then submits that State Election Commission has taken decision on petitioner’s representation and has issued necessary directions to the District Election Officer for installing CCTV Camera. 7. Having regard to the aforesaid facts, there is no question of any further direction. Accordingly, the writ petition fails and is dismissed.
